About this tour

Join a friendly small group for the same three-day route as our private Sahara tour at a fraction of the price. A licensed driver-guide takes care of the driving while you enjoy the High Atlas, the kasbahs and two dramatic gorges on the way to Merzouga.

It is a very popular choice with solo travellers – around half of each group usually travels alone. Departures run every day of the year, with extra vehicles in spring and autumn. Camp upgrades (deluxe ensuite or air-conditioned tents) can be added when you book.

Itinerary

Day 1Marrakech – Aït Ben Haddou – Dades Valley (≈7 h drive)

Early pickup and a drive over the Tizi n'Tichka pass. Visit Aït Ben Haddou, then continue through Ouarzazate and the Rose Valley to your hotel in the Dades Valley for dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 2Dades Gorge – Todra Gorge – Merzouga (≈5 h drive)

Viewpoints over the Dades Gorge and a short walk inside Todra Gorge. After a stop in Erfoud you reach the edge of Erg Chebbi, where camels carry you into the dunes for sunset, dinner and a night at camp.

Day 3Merzouga – Ouarzazate – Marrakech (≈10 h drive)

A sunrise camel ride back to the village, breakfast at the lodge (with pool access when time allows) and the long scenic drive home via the Draa Valley and Ouarzazate, arriving in Marrakech in the evening.

How big are the groups?

Is it safe for solo travellers?

Yes – you are accompanied by the driver-guide throughout and the camp is secure. Many guests travel alone.

Can I upgrade my camp on arrival?

No. The camps are separate sites, so please choose your upgrade when booking.

Cancellation policy

Free cancellation up to 7 days before departure.
Cancellations made less than 7 days before departure: the deposit is kept as credit valid for 12 months.
Date changes are free when requested at least 72 hours in advance, subject to availability.
If weather or safety conditions make the tour impossible, we offer a new date or a full refund.
