About this tour

Rather than doubling back, this private tour crosses the country from south-west to north. You start in Marrakech, spend a night under canvas in the Sahara and arrive in the imperial city of Fes on the evening of day three.

Your luggage stays with you in the vehicle the whole way. Along the route you'll see Aït Ben Haddou, two great gorges, the date palms of the Ziz Valley and the Barbary macaques that live among the cedars near Azrou.

Itinerary

Day 1Marrakech – Aït Ben Haddou – Dades Valley (≈6 h)

Cross the High Atlas, visit and lunch at Aït Ben Haddou, continue through the Rose Valley around El Kelaa M'Gouna and check in to your Dades Valley hotel for dinner.

Day 2Tinghir – Todra Gorge – Merzouga (≈4 h)

A gentle walk through the Tinghir palm oasis, then Todra Gorge, Erfoud and Rissani. Ride a camel into Erg Chebbi at sunset; try sandboarding before dinner at your ensuite luxury camp.

Day 3Merzouga – Ziz Valley – Ifrane – Fes (≈8 h)

Watch the sun rise over the dunes, then head north through the Ziz Valley. Lunch in Midelt, meet the macaques in the cedar forest near Azrou, pause in alpine-style Ifrane and arrive in Fes in the late afternoon.

It stays safely in your vehicle for all three days and arrives with you in Fes.

Yes – proper beds, private bathrooms with hot showers and electricity.

Can young children join?

Absolutely. Child seats are free and the camel ride can be swapped for a 4×4 transfer.
