Watch the land change under your feet: green terraces and snow give way to ochre plateaux and the first hints of the Sahara. Over five days you trek south across the Atlas watershed.

Four nights in village guesthouses, a 2,700 m pass and a 4x4 to Ouarzazate at the finish. 55–65 km; best October to April.

Itinerary

Day 1Imlil – Tizi n'Tamatert – Tizi Oussem

Into the Azzaden (5–6 hours).

Day 2Southern traverse

Turning south as the scenery changes (6–7 hours).

Day 3Watershed pass (2,700 m)

Cross to the dry southern side (7–8 hours).

Day 4Descent towards the pre-Sahara

Arid landscapes and ochre villages (6–7 hours).

Day 5Final descent – 4x4 to Ouarzazate

Walk out and drive to Ouarzazate (3 h walk + 2 h drive).

Meet your guide in Imlil village, 1 h 30 from Marrakech. Private transfer from your Marrakech hotel available on request.

Mules carry the main luggage – keep valuables in your daypack

Cancellations made less than 7 days before departure: the deposit is kept as credit valid for 12 months.
Date changes are free when requested at least 72 hours in advance, subject to availability.
If weather or safety conditions make the tour impossible, we offer a new date or a full refund.
