About this tour

Two of Morocco's greatest experiences in one private trip. The first two days are spent climbing Mount Toubkal (4,167 m) with a licensed mountain guide and mule team, sleeping at the refuge and then in a comfortable lodge in Imlil.

From there your private 4×4 heads over the Atlas to Aït Ben Haddou, the Dades Valley and Todra Gorge, finishing with sandboarding, a sunset camel ride and a luxury ensuite camp in Erg Chebbi. Don't want to summit? Walk the Imlil valleys instead and rejoin on day 3 at the same price.

Itinerary

Day 1Marrakech – Imlil – Toubkal Refuge (5–6 h trek)

Drive 90 minutes to Imlil, meet your guide and mules and trek past Aremd and Sidi Chamharouch to the refuge (3,207 m). Full board.

Day 2Toubkal summit – Imlil

Start around 05:30, reach the summit in 3–4 hours and descend to an ensuite mountain lodge in Imlil. Full board.

Day 3Imlil – Aït Ben Haddou – Dades Valley (≈6 h drive)

Private 4×4 over Tizi n'Tichka to Aït Ben Haddou, Ouarzazate, Skoura and the Valley of the Roses. Night in the Dades Valley, half-board.

Day 4Todra Gorge – Merzouga (≈5 h drive)

Tinghir and Todra Gorge, then Erfoud and Rissani. Sandboarding and a sunset camel ride to a luxury camp, half-board.

Day 5Sunrise – Marrakech (≈9 h drive)

Optional sunrise ride, then the long drive back via Ouarzazate. An extra night on the way can be added on request.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need climbing experience?

No, but good fitness is essential – trekking days last 5–8 hours over scree and boulders.

What about altitude?

Many people feel symptoms above 3,500 m. Your guide watches for warning signs and will descend if needed.

Can I skip the summit?

Yes – walk the valleys around Imlil and rejoin on day 3 at the same price.

Cancellation policy

Free cancellation up to 7 days before departure.
Cancellations made less than 7 days before departure: the deposit is kept as credit valid for 12 months.
Date changes are free when requested at least 72 hours in advance, subject to availability.
If weather or safety conditions make the tour impossible, we offer a new date or a full refund.
