About this tour

Tizi n'Tamatert is the classic pass north-east of Imlil, carrying the old trail over to the Imnane Valley and the villages of Tacheddirt and Ikkis. The path climbs through the hamlet of Tamatert, shaded by walnut trees for the first hour, before opening onto a ridge.

After 2–2.5 hours you reach the col at 2,287 m, with the Imnane Valley below and the Toubkal peaks behind. Rest with a mint tea at the small café by the pass, then descend the way you came. About 10 km return and 512 m of ascent.

It can hold light snow December–March but is usually crossable.
