Private3-Day Desert Trek from Ouarzazate – Tidri & Erg Sahel Dunes
About this tour
A compact desert trek for travellers with limited time who still want to walk with a caravan rather than drive to a tourist camp. From Ouarzazate you cross the Anti-Atlas and descend the Draa Valley, a green corridor of palm groves and fortified villages, to meet the camel team at Zaouiat Sidi Salah.
Over the next two days you walk over the golden Tidri dunes, cross a stony plateau to the untouched Erg Sahel and finish through tamarisk country at Ouled Driss. Campfires, sunsets, bread baked in the sand and a deep desert silence far from the crowds.

Frequently asked questions
Can I start from Marrakech instead?
Yes – we can add a private transfer from Marrakech on the day before and back afterwards. Ask us for a quote.
Do I have to ride the camels?
No – this is a walking trek and the dromedaries carry the luggage and kitchen. If anyone gets tired, a camel can usually be saddled for a stretch.
When can I do this trek?
The desert walking season runs from October to April, when days are warm and pleasant and nights are cool. From May to September it is too hot to walk safely in the dunes.
What should I pack?
A warm sleeping bag, a soft duffel of up to 12 kg (the camels carry it), a small daypack, ankle-high walking boots, sandals for camp, a warm fleece for the evenings, a 1.5–2 L water bottle, sun hat, sunglasses, sunscreen, a headtorch and your personal medication.
